An inclusive education film

“willing & able”

by Henri Herré and John Doucet

The film observes the everyday lives of an extraordinary community at a Boston Public School in the Dorchester neighborhood. It is clear that this is a special place. The film attempts to present the ways that the staff and parents create a caring, supportive environment for the children. There are many scenes of children creating art, learning dance, and presenting ideas on stage. The school has embraced the arts as a key way to reach these children and give them a forum for expression. This successful inclusive education model can benefit any community, no matter the challenges.

It isn’t easy. But it isn’t impossible, either. Its real life. And that’s the revelation.
